Our story begins woth sourcing ingredients. Where you start is hugely important in any process and can often define one's journey. Our entire approach is based on this premise and is the core of our brand. To source responsibly, ethically and sustainably.
Firstly we are dedicated to sourcing the highest quality ingredients with the least impact on the environment for our customers. The chain or cycle works equally in reverse as we have an obligation to our entire production chain to ensure fairness to all prevails from the small local Moringa or Marula farmer growing and planting trees supporting local communities to the products arrive at your home or local retailer.
We remain steadfast and dedicated in maintaining transperency, quality and decency and fairness to all along this path we travel.
We are based in Stanford, South Africa, surrounded by the pristine natural beauty of the Cape along the Southern tip of Africa. Kudu, our name and brand inspired by the majestic antelope, a kind, gentle and beautiful creature, like the Kudu we intend to do no harm when creating our products. Rather we aim to create and deliver high quality natural products with only gentle ingredients for balanced beautiful skin.
OUR PRODUCTS
Our products are handcrafted in micro-batches to ensure quality, freshness and purity to provide superior bio-active skincare. We only use biodegradable ingredients in our formulations. Natural, gentle and kind to your skin, Kudu’s products are formulated with sensitive skin in mind. ‘Less is more’, we combine all the best ingredients with none of the harsh additives for healthy, happy skin. The botanical extracts we use in our range contain naturally high levels of antioxidants and vital nutrients, essential for skin cell function and regeneration. We do not compromise on the quality of our products, using the best plant-based and laboratory made ingredients. Our formulations are based on scientific research.
Our products are 100% cruelty free. We do not and will never carry out animal testing and we do not source ingredients from any companies that test on animals.
Our products come in carefully selected packaging materials designed to protect the formulations within. Our amber apothecary-style dropper bottles are made from glass to ensure that the photosensitive, antioxidant-rich, highly active botanical ingredients are protected from air and UV-light. This ensures long-term effectiveness and stability of the product.
SUSTAINABLE & ETHICAL PRACTICE
We focus strongly on social responsibility. Whenever possible we source locally and support local small businesses. Where possible we like to support small African businesses that cultivate and harvest organically in a sustainable manner. Our Moringa oil is produced from seeds grown by smallholders in rural parts of Malawi who manage and harvest crops from donated Moringa trees.
OUR FOUNDER
Founder Angelica Wessel originally from Stockholm, Sweden has passionately researched plant-based extracts and organic active botanical ingredients found here in Africa to further develop and enhance her skincare range.
